The spells catalogued here are purported to be of legendary difficulty and power. They seem to have been recorded only sparsely (for good reason, the texts claim). It's probably just the ramblings of extinct traditionalists, though -- a pattern's a pattern.
Craft Item ([item], vec →)
Craft a list of thrown items. Costs about one Charged Amethyst to cast and one additional Amethyst Dust per item evaluated, regardless of if it was used in the process.
Takes a list of dropped items and a vector to describe the orientation. When I cast this spell, the excess media lost clues me into what it was doing. The dense burst of particles is what Nature has deemed the center-most item, and the lines between each item seem to convey some type of network, or graph. Notably, does not mishap if no item could be crafted... I suppose Nature is charging me more for the display than for the assembly itself.
Each item, or node will tend to cling to its nearest neighbor, within some tolerance. The order of the items in any list and the direction of any individual item seem to have no bearing on the resulting connections. A consequence of these two points is that a graph's structure, how many groups or partitions it consists of, is within my control.
Demonstration
By placing items in the configuration shown above, I can craft a diamond shovel.
Dissociate (number →)
Disconnects my mind from my body. Costs about one Amethyst Shard to cast, plus Amethyst Dust equal to the square of the duration in twentieths of a second.
A spell to remove my conscious self from my body, leaving it vulnerable. I should secure my body in a safe place, motionless, lest my body slips and falls while it is out of my control.
Compass' Dis. Purif. (player → vec)
Transforms the player on the stack into the position that player's mind is at.
Alidade's Dis. Purif. (player → vec)
Transforms the player on the stack into the direction that player's mind is looking to.
Dump Spiral (many → list)
Pushes every pattern on my casting grid onto the stack in a list. Costs about one Charged Amethyst.
This pattern seems to remember my past in great detail, recalling each pattern as I had drawn them, orientation and all. Even the patterns I drew incorrectly are included for some reason. Painfully loud thoughts pull on my mind, imagining what this simple pattern might do in a more advanced setting...
